Tecnoambiente has been offering environmental consultancy services for more than 30 years, with the aim of helping the public and private sector to protect the environment in a holistic way, including all externalities of processes and activities. Since its inception, the company has witnessed regulatory developments that have succeeded in preserving important ecosystems, biodiversity and preventing the deterioration of nature. In recent years, the newly created department focused on Sustainability and Climate Change consulting has been working on climate issues, both in terms of mitigation and adaptation.
A key element for the correct planning of decarbonisation strategies is the calculation of base greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The total of these GHGs emitted by an organisation constitutes its carbon footprint. However, this carbon footprint can also be calculated at product, service or event-specific level, depending on the level of detail required. In any case, carbon footprint measurement is an effective means for companies to obtain key information for decision making and to identify opportunities for emission and cost reductions. Furthermore, carbon footprinting has become a key area of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or sustainability strategy and a tool of increasing strategic value.
In response to these needs, Tecnoambiente has developed its own Carbon Neutral seal. This certification is based on the calculation of the carbon footprint generated by each company using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard or ISO 14064. In addition to calculating the carbon footprint, Tecnoambiente also advises its clients on the identification of emission reduction opportunities and, if necessary, on the purchase of carbon credits in the voluntary carbon market. In this way, the calculation, reduction and offsetting of emissions is carried out, resulting, in the event that the offsetting is complete, in a carbon neutral organisation.
Tecnoambiente's Carbon Neutral seal incorporates a QR code that allows the general public to access the final certificate describing the emissions that have been generated, the carbon credits purchased, the year of calculation, as well as other information of interest.
